NIR/10/024: Community water relief projectDear Brenda Jones,
Thank you very much for your concern and the activities of the 1% to help the poor of the word to which our group is a beneficiary.
I decided to give you this situation progress report on our project, though the project was delayed due to political instabilities in the state, which led health and sanitation department go on strike action, they are the one to approve the site of the project, however the site have been approve and the borehole is drilled. The engineers did a wonderful work drilling upto 300fts to get the specified good quality water according to the areas under ground water level.
Thanks to 1% fund for development Italy for this assistance the community remain grateful.

MAG/09/050: Power generator and water pump for schoolI’m writing on behalf of Mother Virgilia Trasatti, general Mother of the “Istituto Suore Pie Operaie” who confirmed the receipt of the 1% donation to their mission in Madascar for the purchase of one power generator to transport water from a well to the school run by the nuns and to the building where young girls of the village carry out various activities.
She thanks the group for the financial support and since she’s traveling to Madacascar in May she hope to send photos of the mission very soon.

ETH/09/051: Supplementary feeding for school childrenIn January 2009, I surprised even myself by deciding to go to Ethiopia as a volunteer worker for three weeks. I had never been there before, and I admit I was anxious about what awaited me. But in the very instant the plane landed in Axum, all my fears dissolved. How could I not feel at home, when the first thing I saw was the familiar Axum obelisk, which had stood guard for so long in front of the main gates to FAO!
